Anita Joyce Carson changed addresses to be with the Lord January 19, 2024. ‘Momma’ Anita was born March 12, 1933, to Rev. M.P. and Edith Bishop in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Harold Carson, and her brother, Paul Bishop. She is survived by her brother John Bishop (Ann); children Edith Leinberger, Ruth Mills (Otis), Martha Beasley, Wes Corley (Debra), and Sara Robinson (Troy); 81 grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
Her name, Anita Joyce, meant Grace and Joy – which she lived up to sincere and merciful, full of laughter. Always with a smile. Always taking things in stride. In everything Anita learned, she sought to use it to serve the Lord. Anita had a love for people. No one was a stranger. Everyone was family. To many people, she became ‘Momma’. It was her ‘Momma hugs’ which people would line up for. Prayer was the key to her life. The prayer from the depths of Anita’s heart was:
1. Take up your Godly heritage. Call out your family by name to the throne of God.
2. Serve faithfully in the House of God.
3. Tithe faithfully, Give to the Jews, orphans, homeless, and widows.
4. Read your Bible every day.
5. Pray every day.
