She was a proud alumna of James Martin High School, and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Throughout her childhood and into college Andrea was actively involved with Camp Fire Boys and Girls earning her Wo-He-Lo award and working as a counselor and staff member at Camp El Tesoro near Granbury. Following graduation, Andrea worked with the Fort Worth YMCA then as a restaurant manager.
Among the many things that brought joy into Andrea's life were preparing, cooking and hosting meals or parties for her friends and family. She made everyone welcome into our home and could always seem to find “room for just one more friend” at our table. She was happiest when she was able to bring happiness to those she loved and cared for.
Recently, she was able to combine her love for cooking, baking and serving people as the shop manager at Cake-aholics Bakery. However, Andrea's greatest passion and joy was motherhood. Whether serving with the PTA or volunteering to chaperone and chauffeur for Girl Scout Troop 3520, Andrea believed in modeling active service as a value to her daughter and the world. Her bubbly nature, kind heart and creativity are sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Andrea is survived by her husband Michael, her daughter Lily, her mother DeDe Appleby, her grandfather Vern Salzman, her siblings Austin, Ryan and Alaina Appleby, her aunt and uncle Julee and Craig Kilpatrick, her cousins Connor and Carter Kilpatrick, her Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Janet Appleby, and cousins Karen, Karmen and Katherine . There are, as well, numerous friends and extended family.
