Anasia Nyli Griffin

Anasia Griffin, 20, of Arlington, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Arlington, Texas.

Anasia Griffin was born on January 1, 2003 in Arlington, Texas to La Tonya Lowry and James Griffin.

Anasia graduated from Sam Houston High School in June of 2021. Growing up, Anasia wanted to be an Lawyer. After having her daughter, Za’ Riyah, she changed her focus and decided that she wanted to return to school to become a counselor. Anasia also loves Jesus and spoked his name and words with everyone.

Anasia was best known for her love of playing basketball. She received numerous awards and recognition for her skills on and off the court. She was also known for her bright beautiful smile and her uplifting words. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and compassion. With the time Anasia was given on this earth, she left an indelible mark in the world. The loss of her presence will be felt and she will be truly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Anasia is survived by her daughter Za’ Riyah Newby, mother La Tonya Lowry, father James Griffin, sisters, Asianna Griffin, Aunisti Griffin, Journee Griffin, Brothers Keiarriyen Griffin, Saebein Griffin, James Griffin Jr, Justin Stevenson, Jordan Ames, and Braylan Griffin. Grand parents Joycelyn and Ernest Jackson, Jacqueline Griffin, Charles Lowry, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and loved ones.

Anasia is preceded in death by her grandfather Tommy Lee Griffin Sr., great grandparents Dovie Lee and Earnest Junior Lewis, and her cousin, baby Ahmar’ja Jones.

Funeral services for Anasia Griffin will be held on Friday July 7, 2023, at 11:00 am at Wade Funeral Home and Crematory, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013.

Friends and family are encouraged to attend visitation services from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Wade Funeral Home and Crematory.

Graveside services will be at Southland Memorial Park, 1204 S. 3rd Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75051.
