Amy Pike, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 42 years old.
Born on April 29, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois, Amy dedicated her life to education, mentorship, and the people she loved. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science before pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Her passion for science and teaching led her to Martin High School, where she taught BioMed in the STEM program. More than just a teacher, Amy was a mentor, a guiding light, and a steadfast supporter of her students and colleagues. Her classroom was a place of inspiration, where she fostered curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
On July 7, 2012, Amy married Jeremy Pike at Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas, in a joyful celebration of love, family, and faith. Together, they built a life centered around their greatest treasures—their children, Lucas and Ella. Amy was a devoted and loving mother, filling their lives with warmth, adventure, and endless affection.
As a daughter and sister, Amy strengthened family bonds with her kindness and unwavering love. She was the heart of her family, the one who brought everyone together with her warmth and joy. As a friend, she was a source of encouragement, a listening ear, and a steady presence. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen and valued, and her friendships were deep and lasting.
Amy found joy in life’s experiences, from traveling to making cherished memories with loved ones. A devoted Texas Rangers fan, she shared a particularly special moment with her grandmother, mother, and her brother, Drew, on November 1, 2023, when they watched the Rangers clinch their first World Series championship at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Among her favorite trips were her visits to Disney World, where she embraced the magic and adventure with the same enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life.
Amy’s impact reached far beyond her classroom, touching the lives of students, colleagues, friends, and family. She will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the way she made everyone feel valued and loved.
Amy was lovingly welcomed into heaven by her grandparents, William and Mary Clifton, and Patricia Wyrick; her uncle, David Clifton; and her father-in-law, Raymond Pike. Their embrace awaited her, bringing comfort and reunion in eternal peace.
Amy is survived by her husband, Jeremy Pike; children, Ella and Lucas Pike; parents, Nancy Wyrick and Rick Wyrick (Mary); brother, Drew Wyrick (Stephanie); grandfather, James “Jim” Wyrick; mother-in-law, Maureen Pike; aunts and uncles, Marie (Beth) McClanahan (Jeff), Sandy Harry, Brent Wyrick, and David Wyrick; nieces and nephews, Sophia, Cade, and Tyler; sister-in-law, Jenna Thrift (Cody); cousins, Mallory, Jordan, Stephen, David Clifton “DC,” and Ryan (Mona); numerous second cousins, along with loving lifelong friends.
