Alvin Otis Suggs, 82 years young, went to be with Jesus on June 25, 2019, at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX in the presence of family.
He was born on February 28, 1937, in Thackerville, Oklahoma to John William Suggs and Ethel B (Harris) Suggs. Alvin married his wife, Neta Suggs, on December 3, 1955. For over 63 years his love shined bright every time Alvin spoke of his wife. He was devoted to his family with unconditional love and took pride in all they achieved. In his 82 years of life, he has been a consistent example of a perfect man, husband, father, and grandfather to his family.
He was retired from the Reliable Life Insurance Company. He was a friend to many, compassionate neighbor, an avid country western reader, Gather Music lover, active gardener, excellent Christmas decorator - but most importantly, he was a believer and friend of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church with his family, Neta, Traci and Alyson. He led his life altruistically by giving unselfishly and loving others without an expectation of anything in return.
He was proceeded in death by his father, John William Suggs; mother, Ethel B Suggs; sisters, Eva Morgan and Inez Pilcher; brothers, Lester Suggs, George Suggs, and Harrell Suggs; and son Randy Suggs.
He is survived by wife, Neta (Speer) Suggs (Arlington); brother, Tom Suggs and wife Lucia Suggs (Fort Worth); daughter, Traci Jones and husband, Kevin Jones (Bedford); granddaughter, Alyson Morris, husband, Ryan Morris and their son, Maddox (Houston); grandson, Ryan Jones, wife Mallory Jones and their son, Emerson (Fort Worth); and many nieces and nephews.
At Alvin's request, there will be no service. The family plans to have a celebration of Alvin's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alvin's memory to Vitas Community Connection (online at http://vitascommunityconnection.org/community-connection/donate or by mail at 6100 Western Place Suite 801, Fort Worth, TX 76107) or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (online at www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude).
