Alvin Joe Vaughan

July 17, 1945 — December 26, 2012

Alvin Joe Vaughan, 67, passed away December 26, 2012 in Branson, MO. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Reverend David Bryant and Reverend Mike Evans officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Joe was a man as described by his brother, who "knew how to love". He was a "people" person, investing his life in others. Once a person was Joe's friend, he was a lifetime friend. Most of all, Joe was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord and desired to serve Him. After a career of teaching and then sales, Joe could be found on a weekday morning drinking coffee with his coffee buddies who became dear friends. Near Christmas, he was volunteering at his wife's school holiday gift store. Every Sunday Joe was in his place of service at New Testament Baptist Church, where he was a head usher and deacon. Lovingly hovering over his and Linda's "church children." He was the most loving husband, caring for Linda in the multiple details of daily living, always ready to listen and care. He kept in very close touch by phone with his brother Sam, whom he loved greatly. Joe could be found often at nursing homes and hospitals visiting friends and relatives. Joe will be missed more than words can tell by all of his loved ones and friends. But we "know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself.." Psalms 4:3a How we loved and were blessed by knowing Joe Vaughan. Linda is especially grateful for hers and Joe's supportive family and friends, church family and pastor, David Bryant, also Rev. Gary Williams and Calvary Baptist Church of Branson, MO, during this difficult time. Survivors: loving wife, Linda; loving brother, Sam Vaughan; and a multitude of relatives and friends.
