Alma “Pearl” Price. 88, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 16th, in Arlington, Texas.
Visitation/Memorial: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 20th. Wade Funeral Home. Her memorial will be Wednesday, September 21st twelve noon at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Pearl was born on January 2, 1934, along with her twin Merle in Henderson, Texas, to Daisy and William Jay.
Pearl graduated from North Dallas High School and went on to continue her education at SMU. Mom worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company/AT&T for 35 years. While working for SWBT she worked in the Security department giving many public speeches on to handle annoying and harassing phone calls and worked with the FBI. She was a member of the Pioneers and the president of the American Businesswoman’s Association.
Pearl married Gene Price on March 31st, 1955, in Dallas, Texas. They had 2 children Melissa Ann and Steven Jay.
Pearl lived her life for her God, her family, her friends, and her community; always having a kind word and act of service ready to go. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Arlington and taught GAs for several years. Her love for family was ever present, caring for several of her grandchildren. She loved her church and working in the yard. Even as her beautiful mind began to change, her warmth and love was always there.
Pearl is survived by Melissa Cruz (daughter) and Steve Price (son), his wife Christi. Grandchildren: Eric Cruz and wife Amanda, Brandon Cruz, Jonathan Cruz and wife Sadie, and Allison Cruz and fiancé, Jasón Terranella. Chace Price and husband David Rent, Anna Marie, and husband Cole Chambers. Great Grandchildren: Tristan Cruz, Rikki Cruz, Ryan Cruz, Rendon Cruz, Raylen Cruz, and Ember Terranella. Sister Daisy Martin and brother Robert Jay.
Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Price, parents Daisy and William Jay, and her twin sister, Merle Dickey, and her brothers William Earl Jay and Charlie Frank Jay.
Pearl will be deeply missed by all. Her spirit lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
