Allen Dodson Stacy, 94, passed from this life on September 3, 2018.
Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on May 16, 1924, the fourth child of John Latham Stacy and Zoe Dodson Stacy.
Allen grew up on farmland in Dell, Arkansas. A veteran of World War II, Allen Stacy served in an armored division in Europe under General George S. Patton. Landing in Normandy a few days after the main invasion, he battled in France through the Argonne and on to Germany, where his platoon stumbled across a concentration camp abandoned by its Nazi commanders, but still filled with emaciated prisoners. After the war, Allen returned to Dell, Arkansas to help farm the land where he was raised. Soon he owned his own farm and co-owned a harvesting company with his brother, Dick. In his lifetime he had several careers including sales for Ralston Purina, production and sales of manufactured housing, and various ventures in the oil industry. He lived larger than life, and continued to work into his late 80's. He was peaceful in death, stating to his attentive and dedicated caregiver, Linda Patterson, that he had no anxiety because he knew Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his mother, his father, his step-father, Edgar A. Stacy, his brothers Latham Stacy and Dick Stacy, his sister Rose Stacy Zedler, and his daughters Rebecca Stacy, Elizabeth Autumn Stacy, and Candace Stacy.
