ARLINGTON -- Allan Pryor Needles II, 59, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his home in Arlington.
Funeral: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the family cemetery in Smithwick. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Allan was born Dec. 17, 1952, in Austin at Bergstrom AFB. He was born to Lyla Rushing Needles and Allan Needles Sr.
Allan was a graduate of Lanier High School in Austin and received a bachelor's degree in history from Southwest Texas State University. While studying at SWT, Allan was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity and acted in stage productions for the theater department.
Allan was a lifelong student of history, his favorite era being that of the fight for Texas' Independence, specifically the Battle of the Alamo.
Some of Allan's favorite pastimes were watching football, classic films and country music.
Allan was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors: Wife, Lynn Huttenmaier Needles of Arlington; son, Matthew of Austin; daughter, Marissa of Hong Kong; father, Allan Needles Sr. of Denton; and sister and brother-in-law, Kellye and Don Church of Pilot Point.
