ARLINGTON -- Alicia Martinez Lara, 69, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Alicia was born on October 2, 1944 in Sweetwater, Texas to Frank Martinez and Angela Rosas Martinez. She moved to Arlington in 1968. Alicia worked in customer service for Tru Green Chemlawn for 31 years. Her family was her whole world. She knew how to get her point across and tell you what was on her mind, but it was always out of love. She was always there for everyone. Alicia was very skilled at baking and cooking was one of her hobbies.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Lupe Martinez and Trinidad Martinez.
Survivors: Son, Rodney Lara; daughter, Diana Salazar; parents, Frank and Angela Martinez; sisters, Lydia Gomez, Ermelinda Martinez, Minnie Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jeremy Chavin, Eric Salazar, Selina Moreno; great-grandchildren, Justin, Isaiah, Serenity, Emilio, Ava, Timothy and Dylan.
