Alicia Annette Kolton, beloved wife, mother and friend, entered eternal rest on Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 9th, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, Alicia’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and boundless generosity.
Alicia was the cherished wife of Timothy Kolton, and together they shared a life filed with love and devotion. She was the loving mother of David Kolton and Val Kolton, who brought immeasurable pride and joy into her life. Alicia was named Mother of the Year 40+ times and Spouse of the Year a golden 52 times, highlighting her profound devotion to her family.
A beacon of love and strength for her family and friends, her kindness and compassion shaped the lives of all who knew her. She graduated from Morton West High School in Berwyn, Illinois, and went on to pursue a diverse career path, excelling as an entrepreneur, a talented commercial artist, a trusted political advisor, and legal office manager for her beloved husband, Tim D. Kolton.
Outside of work, Alicia was actively involved in several organizations and memberships that were close to her heart. She selflessly dedicated her time and energy primarily to the St. Vincent de Paul Women’s Guild. Alicia founded the Windy City Texans and was an executive in The Ad Club as well as a Cub Scout leader, where her contributions were valued and appreciated.
Alicia’s life was enriched by her passions, including her family, volunteering, entertaining, Da Bulls and utilizing her culinary skills to bring people together through food and fellowship. Renowned for her talent as the best Italian cook, she delighted in entertaining friends and family. Alicia always ensured that her freezer was fully stocked with “emergency meatballs and stuffed shells,” in case she needed to comfort or entertain family and friends last minute. Alicia was inducted into the 2024 Italian Mother Hall of Fame for her exemplary dedication to family and community.
Alicia loved her family and friends more than anything else. Her infectious laughter, vibrant personality, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the good in everyone, always maintained hope and optimism, and her genuine warmth and compassion uplifted spirits wherever she went.
A Catholic Service and Celebration of Alicia’s Life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11 am at St. Vincent De Paul, where friends and family will gather to honor Alicia’s life and legacy. Though she may no longer be with us in person, Alicia’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her love and light.
Alicia Annette Kolton’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in peace, knowing she was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered.
