Alice Orr

Alice Faye Orr, 79, died peacefully on October 7, 2017 in Austin, Texas. Funeral Service: 12:00 noon Friday, October 13, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at the funeral home. Interment: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, at Fairview Cemetery, Memphis, Texas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her memory to the Blanton Elementary Library Fund, 1900 S. Collins Street, Arlington, TX 76010. Alice was born on September 19, 1938 in Plaska, Hall County, Texas. After growing up in Lubbock, she moved to Arlington where she started her own family and began her thirty-plus year career at Blanton Elementary. Alice loved life and spent most of her time caring for her students, friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Wesley Orr and Eddie Annice Spencer Orr; and two brothers, Coy Dean Orr of Waco; and Norman Gale Orr of Abilene. Survivors: She is survived by her son, Jason Ballew, his wife Kelly and her three grandsons Julien, Drake, and Finn of Austin; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and family.
