Albino Robert “Al” D'Agostino, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Inurnment: At a later date, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 5801 Mount Carmel Drive, Arlington, TX 76017 or St. Jude Children's Research Center, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Al was born in Rochester, New York on June 7, 1927 to Salvador and Mary Tomasso D'Agostino. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Merchant Marines serving for two years. Upon returning to civilian life he was drafted in the U.S. Army serving the next three years as draftee and reservist in Korea finally receiving discharge from the U.S. Army in 1954.
Al graduated from Cornell University in the school of Hotel Administration. He began his career in the airline food service, first for TWA and then with Sky Chefs, a subsidiary of American Airlines. He retired as Senior VP of Operations. On June 23, 1956 Al married Barbara Cochi. They just celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Al was preceded in death by his son, Thomas D'Agostino.
Survivors: Al is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Andy (Lynn); daughters, Dolores Nursey (Robert) and Francesca Harder (Richard); and grandchildren, Bob, Stephanie and Hunter Nursey, Hayden, Grant and Carlie Harder; brothers, Patrick and Sam; sister, Dolores; and brother-in-law, Romolo Cochi (Gloria).
