Adriana Shelton

Adriana R. Shelton, 71, of Arlington, Texas, passed away in November 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Adriana married the love of her life, Douglas H. Shelton Jr., in 1976, and together they raised two children.

A proud graduate of Foy H. Moody High School in Corpus Christi, TX, Adriana dedicated 41 years to civil service before retiring. In her retirement, she found joy in her many hobbies, including watching disc golf, enjoying Korean dramas, gardening, sewing, baking, and spending cherished time with her family. Adriana’s faith was central to her life, and she took great comfort in praying daily for her loved ones, especially through the Holy Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. She and her husband, Douglas, were committed members of the Catholic Church, attending the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Her greatest legacy is the strong Catholic faith she instilled in her family and friends, teaching them the importance of prayer and devotion. Adriana will be deeply missed by her family, especially her children: daughter Lisa C., and her husband W. Brandon Williams, and their 14 children; and son Douglas III, and his fiancée Kristin A., and her two daughters. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Becky Lyman (husband Bill) and Maria Guzman (husband Rick); her brothers, Bob Resendez and Henry Resendez; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Adriana was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Douglas H. Shelton Jr.; her parents, Paul and Angela Resendez; her brother, Richard Resendez; and her sister-in-law, Josie Resendez.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Wade Funeral Home & Crematory, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM, led by family friend Max Hastings. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2920 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76016. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 3200 Cannon Drive, Mansfield, TX 76063. A reception will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 5819 West Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington, TX 76016.
