Adalene Beck

ARLINGTON-Adalene Beck, 94, passed away in her sleep early Saturday morning, April 29, 2017 in Fort Worth. Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Universal Health Resources of Fort Worth or a charity of your choice. Adalene was born in Brownwood, Texas to William Andrew Lacey and Vera Rebecca Bell Lacey. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1938 and from Texas State College for Women in 1942. Adalene received her Masters in 1970 from The University of North Texas. She married Bernard O. Beck in 1943 and moved to Big Springs, South Dakota on the Beck family farm. The family moved to Arlington in 1956, and she began teaching at Ousley Junior High and later Bailey Junior High. Adalene retired as a Bailey School Counselor in 1987. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma. The family would like to extend thanks to the nurses and staff at the Universal Hospice. Adalene is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard O. Beck; sister, Rebecca Ann Lacey; brother, Samuel Andrew Lacey; son, Bryan Andrew Beck; daughter, Barbara Ann Brown; and son-in-law, Ronald R. Brown. Survivors: Sons, Dennis Bernard Beck and William “Bill” Theron Beck and wife, Jeanette; grandchildren, Darin Adam Brown and wife, Jill, Jason Lee Brown and wife, Angie, Jessica Erin Rodriguez and husband, Gilbert, Ashley Lynn Sheahan and husband, Tim; and Amanda Michelle Moulder and husband, Joseph; and 13 great-grandchildren.
