William Theodore Griffith

ARLINGTON -- William Theodore "Ted" Griffith, 76, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Rd., Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington. Ted was born in Marlowe, W.Va., to Pearl and Burl Griffith on March 31, 1939. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1963. From 1963 to 1972, Ted was a professional mechanic. In 1972 he went to work for Wright, Inc., becoming plant manager for them and various other owners. Ted was married to his first wife for 17 years and they had four children. Ted married Ellen in 1977 and moved to Arlington, where they had one daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Survivors: Wife, Ellen Griffith; son, Burl Griffith (Kathy); daughters, Jackie Pena, Starlene Evilsizer (Kevin), LaShann Daniel (Hollie), Courtney Panko (Richie); sisters, Berlyn Carlson (Gene), and Tammy Mullins; brother-in-law, Dale Fricker; sister-in-law, Cheryl Stephenson; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
