ARLINGTON -- William "Bill" Sypien passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Interment: Bill's burial will be at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: The family wishes that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Community in Bill's name. Bill was a Korean War veteran (SAC). After serving his country, he began a 40-year career in aviation including Pan Am, Pan Am Business Jets, Cessna (Citation) and Avon Dassault/Falcon Jet. As a private pilot, Bill liked to spend time with family flying them to airports for hamburgers. Bill was a 60-year member of AOPA and EAA and was a 32-year member of Arlington Elks Lodge 2114. The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Abbott for her compassion and professionalism towards our family in need. Thank you so much, Dr. Abbott. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eva Sypien; brothers, Louie and Stanley; and sisters, Anna, Mary, Helen and Josie. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, Stella; daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Steve Daniels; son, Andrew and his wife, Vicki Sypien; grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Katherine Sypien and Harry Daniels; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Gwenneth Sypien; brother, Adam of Fredericksburg, Va.; and numerous other family and friends.

He wasn’t with us for very long but notheless we came to love him all the same. “Crabby” as he so affectionately loved to be called, will be missed by all of us here at Broadway Plaza Pecan Park.
