ARLINGTON -- Varian Arthur Barkhurst, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in Arlington. Funeral: Noon Friday at Advent Lutheran Church, 232 S. Cooper St., Arlington. Interment: 2:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington. Varian was born July 7, 1932, in Thornton, Iowa, to Granville and Louise Jorgensen Barkhurst. He was preceded in death by by his parents; and four brothers, Virgil, Vincent, Stanley and Leroy Barkhurst. Survivors: Wife, Loraine Barkhurst; daughter, Cindy Burns and husband, Gary; sons, Gary Barkhurst and wife, Susan, and Curt Barkhurst and wife, Carolyn; brother, Everett Barkhurst and wife, Arlene; grandchildren, Adam, Cory, Kristy, Jessica, Travis, Ashley and Cody; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Riley.
