On the afternoon of September 20, 2022, Shawn D’Wayne Todd was surrounded by his family as he passed away at the age of 66. Shawn was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on October 13, 1955. He was the third child, and the youngest son of the late James and Norma Todd.

Shawn grew up in Grand Prairie,Texas and later established residency in Seven Points, Texas. He was known to be a jack of all trades but spent the majority of his life working as a diesel mechanic. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, computer games, and social media. He was also known to hold a special place in his heart for all people and dogs.

Shawn is survived by his brothers, David Gumpert and James Todd of Kemp, Texas; his sister Troye McClinton and husband Jay McClinton of Buchanan Dam, Texas; his sons, Johnny Todd and wife Carmen Todd of Arlington, Texas; and James Todd of Kemp, Texas; grandchildren, Breannan Kohli and husband Brandon Kohli; Michael Nugent and wife Marissa Nugent; Hayden Zacha; Jason Todd; Kaylan Todd; Jennifer Todd; Shawn Todd; Savannah Bennett; Brandon Todd; and Danielle Bennett; his nieces, Lori G Olvera and Amanda Borroum; and his nephews, Bill Gumpert; Kelly Crossley; Cody Adams; Lance McClinton; and Josh McClinton.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma Todd; sister-in-law, Marilyn Gumpert; daughter, Sheryl Bennett; daughter-in-law, Tana Todd and nephew, Daniel McClinton.

The family will receive visitors on September 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013.

The Celebration of Life service, officiated by Pastor Scotty Thompson, will be held on September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013.

Following the service, the family will escort Shawn to his final resting place at Southland Memorial Park Cemetery at 1100 SW 3rd Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
