I am Second Cousin Bill and 67 years old,I live in Flat Rock, Alabama. Olen and my mom, Rena Whited Eller were First Cousins, my Grandmother was Cora Minyard Whited, she and Olen’s father were brother and sister.
Olen and I became aware of each late in our lives, perhaps only in the last ten years. It was mostly thru Olen’s efforts by coming to the Whited Family reunion and making it a point to meet every one there, talking with them, making connections and establishing a relationship. I will be forever grateful and touched for His personal love for the family.
A few years back Linda and I made a trip west and told Olen that we were going to visit him and nothing would satisfy him until we agreed to stay at his house. It turned out to be the highlight of our relationship. We were able to really bond and meet his close friend Shirley, which is a wonderful lady, and had supper with them on one of the evenings.
I had many discussions with Olen about the next life and about our Savior Jesus. Olen was a believer and told me his relationship with God was firm. We must believe Him and accept it for what He said, I do.
Our sympathy is with all the family, loved ones, and friends. Please be aware that we will miss Him.
