ARLINGTON -- Russell "Russ" Thomas Reston, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Arlington. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with Pastor Marc Hander officiating. Russ was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio, to Thomas Reston and Myrtle Louth Reston. He was raised in Dayton and graduated from Stivers High School. Russ joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He married Jeannyne Carol Shank on Feb. 20, 1954, in Dayton. A printing pressman for National Cash Register Corp., he retired after 46 years. He worked for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club for 25 years as a media elevator operator. He was an Arlington resident for the past 40 years and a member of Advent Lutheran Church. A special thank-you to the staff and caregivers, especially Londa, at Arden Court of Arlington, and loving thanks to daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Harvey Smith. Russ was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Verdella Jean Reston. Survivors: Wife, Jeannyne Carol Reston; sons, Mark David Reston (Leslie), Gary Russell Reston (Karla) and Dale Thomas Reston (Carol); daughters, Carol Jeannyne Smith (Harvey) and Lynn Marie Wessels (Mark); grandchildren, Angela, Bryan, Brandi, Leigh Ann, Chelsea, Lexi, Nick, Kaitlyn, Carly, Sydney and Drew; and great-grandson, Luca.
