Guestbook

  1. Mike was so very special to Joe Clay–from the moment they met. The same was true when Joe Clay introduced him to me. We never knew Mike as anything but cheerful, positive and supportive. Judy, he loved you very muc rightfully so.

  2. Dear Judith, Mike, Charlie, Matt, Mark and family,
    I ‘m so saddened to hear of Mikes’ passing. He was Joe Clays (my dads’) best man and always held a special place in my parents’ hesrts. Mr. Watkins’ memory for me will endure as a strong, straight, honest Texan who was loyal in his friendships and loved his family. I’m so sorry for your loss and wish you peace in the days ahead. God Bless you all.

  3. We have lost a great person and a fun individual to be around. I / we will miss you Mike. Our sincere condolences to the Watkins family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Fergus, Victoria, Virginia and Simone (Germany)

  4. Dear Judy & Family,
    I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. We have lost one of the “good guys”. He knew what the true definition of a friend was. He was my father’s best man in his wedding and had been an integral part of our family’s life. He had been Mom’s rock since Dad’s passing and was always there for her. She is absolutely crushed, as I can only image your anguish. He will be missed. Hopefully you will find some comfort knowing how loved he was across such a huge expanse…

  5. Judy & family,
    Pam and I are very sorry for your loss. Mike was a special person and one of the people who helped a young kid “figure some things out”. Mike was one of the best Tech Service people I had the opportunity to work with. We will miss him.

    Kevin & Pam Larson

  6. I was very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. We had dinner together in Florida just 2 weeks ago. I worked with Mike at Diamond V from 1992-1996 and always enjoyed our time together. Please know that you are in our prayers. John Osborne

  7. I first met Mike in 1975 when I started with the Extension Service and was working the DHI program. At that time, he was in charge of the dairy herd at SFA. Since that time, we have stayed as friends as he changed positions, and I would see him at meetings and events. I just saw him briefly at the farm show in Tulare a few weeks ago. I will miss one of my longest friend in Texas. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

  8. Dear Family Members of Mike Watkins;
    It was my privilege to know Mike for some 30 years and I enjoyed the opportunity of working with him in a small way on seversl trips to Mexico and to Puerto Rico. He was a delight to be with–a true professional in every way. He was generous and it was my good fortune to have known Mike. We will all miss him. Carl E. Coppock

  9. Judy and Family, I was very sad and words cannot express my deepest sympathies on your lost. It was always a pleasure to visit and chat with Mike and I looked to him for knowledge and advice. He was a great professional to interact with. It was great to have Mike visit South Dakota State University last week to discuss future research projects and working together on projects. We had a great discussion on setting up a research project, talking dairy cattle nutrition, and even discussed setting up a dairy farm feeding trial. He was an professional, a very good friend and a great colleague to work with. I will miss him dearly. Again our deepest sympathies to the you and the family. David & Janet Casper

    You all have so many memories to
    Help you with his passing. Love Barb
