Ronnie Charles Murray

ARLINGTON -- Ronnie Charles Murray was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on May 15, 2016 in Arlington. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Tate Springs Baptist Church, Arlington. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington. Ronnie was born October 6, 1942, in Ft. Worth to Jewell and Herchiel Murray. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Paschal High in 1960 and earned degrees from Arlington State College in 1966 (B.S., Electrical Engineering) and SMU in 1975 (M.S., Systems Engineering). He spent a career working in software development and improvement and quality assurance for LTV, SMC, TI, Raytheon, and Siemens. Ronnie became a Christian at age 9 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Ft. Worth. He was a man with a passion for God's word, a hunger to understand it, and a desire to follow it - seeking to know and follow God's plan for his life. Ronnie served the Lord and his church as a faithful deacon, on the Personnel Committee, on Mission Council, and as an usher, greeter, and Sunday School teacher. Ronnie was the kind of man every child wanted for a father and grandfather, full of love, compassion, patience, and understanding. He always had a gentle touch and an ease about him guiding you down the right path. As Paw Paw, he had the loving spirit that the grandkids flocked to. He always made time to listen if anyone needed to talk, no matter how busy he was. His children loved his nightly reading from books like The Chronicles of Narnia or stories from the Bible. He always took great joy in all his children's accomplishments and taught them the values of leading a Christian life not only through his words but by his daily example. He loved sitting with the grandkids and playing games or showing them things on the computer. They loved just being with him and recognized him as a true role model. Anyone can be a father, but he was a great Daddy! Survivors: Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Robin; children Roy & Laurie Averill-Murray (Reno, NV), Rebecca & Byron Burson (Aurora, IL), Tammy & Chris Crawford (Mineral Wells, TX), and Brian & Heather Murray (Mesa, AZ); grandchildren Amanda & Jessica Burson, Brooke & Ashley Crawford, and Christian, Grace, Faith, & Micah Murray; and cousins Robert Murray (Fort Worth, TX) and Gary Murray & wife Loretta (San Antonia, TX). He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell & Herchiel, in Ft. Worth. Wade Family Funeral Home Arlington, 817-274-9233

  4. My deepest condolences.

Ronnie and I worked together at Siemens. He had the remarkable ability to explain things in a way that made even complex issues seem simple. I regularly go back to lessons he taught me more than 10 years ago and I’ve used his words to explain concepts to others.

  5. My heartfelt sympathy to Ronnie’s family. May God’s grace shine upon him and his family during this time of grief.
