ARLINGTON -- Ronald E. Franzen, 74, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 6102 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale.
Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Highway 16 N, Medina, TX (830) 589-2236
Ronald was born June 3, 1938 in Cozad, Nebraska to Karl F. and Viola Rowan Franzen.
He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, photography and antiques. Ronald was also a HAM radio operator. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Franzen on November 20, 2012.
Survivors: daughters, Diane Spearman and husband, Doug, Debi Gontier and husband, Daniel, Cheryl Vandegrift and husband, Rick and Terri Graham and husband, James; sister, Sharon Wright and husband, Larry; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

We are so saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. We know from his faithfulness that he is in God’s Hands with his loving wife. We will miss them both so much. We loved both of them and enjoyed our friendship.
Your uncle Jim and I are so sorry for all that’s happened in the last several months, especially within the last 4 weeks. We wish we could be there for you guys, but we just can’t. I know you understand. We are, however, there in thought. Our hearts and our prayers go out to all of you and your families. Love to all!
