Upon graduation from high school Patsy (Pat) moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to attend business school. It was in Wichita Falls that she met, fell in love and later married A.D. Draughn who was serving his country in the United States Air Force. Their 57 year marriage was blessed with two children, Pam and Andy, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In 1964, Pat and A.D. decided to make Arlington, Texas their home to work, raise their children, attend church and make great friends. Pat was a homemaker providing her children with daily examples of how to love your spouse, your children and your friends. Everyone loved to come to our house because she was a great cook! No one could make a chocolate meringue pie like her! She volunteered at Medical City of Arlington for 37 years in the Auxiliary. She served her church and enjoyed learning and participating in Bible Study Fellowship. In their retirement years Pat and A.D. enjoyed extensive traveling and keeping the grandkids. As a grandmother, “Nan/Nana” was all about spoiling the grandkids. She had sleepovers, planned excursions, baked sugar cookies and chocolate crinkles, served Coke floats, played games, rode bikes, organized water gun and shaving cream fights, warmed bath towels in the microwave and so much more! Pat had a giving heart, loved to laugh, tease, hug, and enjoy life. Pat was preceded in death by her husband A.D.; parents, Clark and Mary Burkhalter; sister, Neely Jennings and brother, Joe Burkhalter. Survivors: Children, Pam Hall and husband Ron, of Cleburne and Andy Draughn and wife Paula, of Austin; grandchildren, J.D. Hall and wife K.C., Eric Hall and wife Lisa, Eleanor Draughn Baird and husband Colby, Clark Draughn, David Draughn and Hayden Draughn; four great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Lane and husband David, and brother, Jack Burkhalter. Guestbook

  1. Pat Draughn was the first person we sat next to the first time we visited St Barnabas. I had already known her a few years. She was not a member at that time but visiting Pam and Ron- She made us feel welcome as much as any member. I can pretty much hear her saying hello to me right now. A lovely woman.
