ARLINGTON -- Patrick James Sweeney, 43, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Arlington. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Memorial Donations may be made in Patrick's name to Mission Arlington or the ASPCA. Patrick James Sweeney was born on February 24th, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. He brought love and laughter to all who knew and loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt. He attended schools in California, Oklahoma and Texas and he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A in History. Patrick was a lover of history, politics and world issues and he loved a great debate. He was devoted to his wife and partner of 20 years, Dawn Arriola, and they shared a passion for those less fortunate. Many organizations benefited from their commitment to community service such as Mission Arlington, Meals on Wheels, and the ASPCA. Patrick loved to travel, and he spent many happy days with his extended family in Ireland and England. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Dawn Arriola, parents, Herbert John and Mary Sweeney, sisters Maria Colleen Sweeney and Angelique Sweeney Buchta and many beloved family members in the US, Ireland, England and Australia. When I read about him it is very clear to me that he was a giving person who cared deeply for others. I promise you there is a special place in heaven for those who have a giving heart.   8. I just learned of Patrick’s passing and I am heartbroken by this bright light that has left our world too soon. My prayers and love go out to herb and Mary, Angie, Maria and his entire family. I have fond memories of Patrick from Martin High School and most recently attending the reunion in 2010 and sharing many laughs and memories with hiim and my sisters Suzanne and Stephanie at our table. .
