ARLINGTON -- Mildred Helen O'Dell, 85, whose gentle spirit touched everybody she met, received her wings on Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Arlington. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Woods Chapel, 2424 California Lane, Arlington with Pastor Eric Armstrong officiating. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Photo albums spread on the table tell the story of our angel who never met a stranger. Albums show family celebrations, spaghetti dinners, covered bridges, Woods Chapel, reunions, weddings, and the Statler brothers. Mildred was born on June 23, 1930 in Cooperstown, New York to Jefferson William Pierce and Thelma Elizabeth Lott Pierce. She loved many things; travel, playing organ, crocheting, gardening, gospel music, grandchildren playing, Bingo, crafts, sing-a-longs and church. Mildred outlived her parents; her husband, David O'Dell Sr.; her sons, Donald, David Jr. and Richard O'Dell; and brother, George Pierce. She had a hard time letting them go, but always looked forward to meeting them again in the hereafter. Survivors: Missing our family matriarch's smile will be daughters, Donna Baker and Dianne (Jeff) Fuller; son, Bob (Jacque) O'Dell; sisters, Loretta (Larry) Abrams, Esther Minwell; brother, Les Pierce; in-laws, Betty Firman, Nancy (Doyle) Brown, Norman (Lorrie) O'Dell; grandchildren, Richard Jr. (Heather) O'Dell, Jason (Kim) O'Dell, Ashley Fuller, John (Sandy) Fuller, Mike (Nicole) O'Dell, Todd O'Dell, Calie (Rick) Owens, Suzanne (Steve) Yost, Calvin Baker, Clayton Baker, Chris Baker; and 18 treasured great-grandchildren.
