ARLINGTON -- Mary Davis Wallace, 90, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, in Arlington.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 313 N. Center St., Arlington, Dr. David Mosser officiating.
Mary was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Moran to Claude Davis and Ella Bledsoe Davis. She grew up in West Texas and worked as a banker.
She was a member of Arlington Woman's Club, Encore Club, Arlington Arts League, Theatre Arlington, First United Methodist Church and was a former Pantego City Council member. Mary was a world traveler and had been to many countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Burton; and daughter, Bettye Kay Burton Hashem.
Survivors: Son, Barry Burton; son-in-law, Rabie Hashem; grandchildren, Michelle Hashem, Nicole Hashem and Haya Hashem; 11 great-grandchildren.

I had the pleasure of working with Bettye- Mary’s daughter at Bryant. She was our team leader before she moved to Plano. She was a wonderful person and a dedicated professional that we all looked up too. I know Bettye died way too early but is rejoicing that she is with her Mom and Dad in heaven.
