Linda Louise Thomas, 80, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at her residence in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 23rd at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Linda was born on November 8, 1941 in McAllen, Texas to George Cleo Vineyard and Bernadine Frances Vineyard. She received her bachelor’s degree from Pan American University in 1971, several years after she had already been teaching. Linda taught 2nd grade for both Donna ISD and Grand Prairie ISD. She met lifelong friends at Crockett Elementary School. Linda retired after 34 years of service as an elementary educator. Linda also worked in Cash Control at Traders Village for 30 years where she met many more wonderful friends.

Linda loved to travel the country with her friends and visit historical sites, museums, national parks and forests, gardens and old country towns. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, art journaling, fishing and bird watching. She was an avid Texas Rangers Baseball fan. Linda was also an opera fan with season tickets to both the Dallas Opera and the Houston Grand Opera for many years. She spent many hours making beautiful handmade holiday and birthday cards for many. They were truly works of art.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Virginia Vineyard.

Survivors: Son, Jeffrey Thomas and wife, Yolanda; daughters, Alison McCullough and husband, Scott Hoffer, and Angela Knowles; brother, Steven Vineyard and wife, Jessie; sisters, Liz Whitson and husband, Don, Susan Fisher and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Sean McCullough and wife, Candyce, Geoffrey Thomas and wife, Alaina, Amanda Taylor and husband, Jordan, Lauren Knowles, Katie Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Send you all my love and condolences on the loss of Linda. Although I never had the pleasure to meet her, I grew to know of her quite fondly through my conversations with Yolanda. She was a true and loving Matriarch of the family and led you all well. Giving you all loving memories and providing a foundation for many years of memories to come. I can only imagine that she will be greatly missed by many for a long time to come.
