Linda Ann Wierick

June 25, 1954 — November 23, 2019

Linda Ann Wells Wierick, a resident of Arlington, Texas for the past 21 years, died Saturday evening, November 23, following a brief battle with cancer. She was 65 years old. Linda and her husband of nearly 46 years, Michael Wierick, executive pastor and a campus pastor of Arlington's Fielder Church, had three children – Nathan Wierick (Celina, Texas; spouse, Nicole), Trent Wierick (Shreveport, Louisiana; spouse, Molly); and Meredith Wierick Turner (Houston, Texas; spouse, Greg) – and three grandchildren, Cooper, Sutton and Mary Caroline. She is also survived by her mother, Ann Wells Lanza of Arlington; her brothers, Clay Wells (Mesquite Texas; spouse, Keely) and John Wells (Houston, Texas; spouse, Mary Carol); and extended family from coast to coast who adored her. While many espouse the simple gospel of “loving God and loving others,” few embody it the way that Linda did. Forever uncomfortable in the limelight, she demonstrated her deep love for Jesus Christ and other people mostly through deep and abiding friendships, quiet acts of kindness, and too many gifts, meals and letters to count. Motivated by a lifelong love of children, Linda received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from LSU Shreveport in 1997, then spent the next 25 years teaching elementary school students in both Louisiana and Texas. She retired in May after spending the past two decades as a deeply-loved second-grade teacher at Arlington's Little Elementary School. But the lion's share of her outsized heart and energies were reserved for her husband, three children and three grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely. “Created uniquely by God to be a wife, a mother and a grandmother,” as described recently by her husband, Linda died too soon but somehow fittingly just moments after the conclusion of her daughter's wedding this past Saturday evening. A celebration of Linda's life will be held Sunday, December 1, 5:00 p.m., in the Fielder Church chapel, located at 2011 South Fielder Road, in Arlington. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Gardens, a prayer garden and wildflower habitat to be constructed at the Fielder Church South Oaks Campus, by visiting fielder.org/gracegardens Wade Family Funeral Home 817-274-9233
