Larry Kloepping

February 24, 1939 — October 19, 2023

Larry Kloepping passed away quickly and peacefully on Thursday, October 19, after a brief illness. His daughters were by his side. Larry was born on February 24, 1939, in Lexington, NE and spent his early childhood growing and working on the family farm in North Platte and later graduated from Cozad H.S. in 1957. He then served four ½ years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Kearsarge CVS 33 carrier in the Asian Pacific.

After the Navy he settled in southern California and in 1964 married Roberta “Pinky” Underwood. They would go on to have two daughters while Larry built his career in real estate. In 1980 their family relocated to Grand Prairie, TX where he continued working as a commercial real estate broker. Both Larry and Pinky were active community members through the Wranglers Association and city politics. Larry was actively involved with both the Grand Prairie and Arlington chapters of Rotary Club International for many years. They divorced in 1988 after 24 years of marriage. Shortly thereafter, they adopted their grandson, Blake, and raised him as their own. Larry had a close and cherished relationship with Blake, and they were very involved at First Christian Church of Arlington where Larry became a church elder.

In 2007, Larry began seeing Mary Ann Bush whom he met at church. Their relationship blossomed and they were committed to one another until his passing at the age of eighty-four.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Emily, and his sister Nancy Kay Mundell. He is survived by his former wife, Roberta “Pinky” Kloepping; daughter Linda Cavitt and her family; daughter Beth Kloepping; son Blake Kloepping and his family; and Mary Ann Bush.
There will be a celebration of life service for Larry at First Christian Church of Arlington on Friday, October 27 at 2 p.m. with a short reception to follow. The church is located at 910 S Collins St, Arlington, TX 76010. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wade Family Funeral Home of Arlington.
