March 1932 - November 2020. Ken went to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day -- how fitting! A graduate of Wheaton College and Dallas Theological Seminary, he served as Senior Pastor of Pantego Bible Church in Arlington for 25 years. During his time there, he launched Camp Thurman, Pantego Christian Academy, the Cornerstone at UTA, the “missionary house,” a few church plants, and several major building expansions. He also served as senior pastor at Northside Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, FL, and Ross Bible Church of Port Huron, MI, and founded Parson to Person. Ken authored a book on church leadership, had a regular radio broadcast, and served on the founding Board of Pine Cove. He and Donna traveled to 4 continents to speak and to minister to missionaries. “Pastor” will be remembered as a preacher who taught about the Lord straight from the Bible and as a shepherd who loved people straight from his heart. He loved building houses, building friendships, speaking German, and going on trips with his family and friends. Ken and Donna visited 45+ countries just for fun, but his favorite place was “wherever Mom was.” Each grandchild thought they were his favorite....and they were. We will miss him, but remain settled, grateful he is heaven with the Lord he loved and served. He leaves behind Donna, his loving wife of 65 years; daughter Karen (and Doug) Dougherty of Dallas and their daughter Jenna; daughter Kathy (and Derek) Eitreim of Minneapolis and their children Kendall (and Thomas) Schorr, Blake and Kirstin; sister Lorry Lutz of Denver; and countless dear friends. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of LightHouse of Care in Arlington who took such loving care of him and Donna in these last few years. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 17th at 2pm at Camp Thurman in the pavilion. (3001 Sarah Dr, Pantego, TX 76013) Live-streaming will be available on To honor his memory, the family suggests donations be made online @
