Kathleen Ann Nelson Davis was born November 13, 1932, in Hays, KS. She grew up on a wheat farm in Ogallah, KS, the middle of three daughters. She learned how to drive a tractor at 12. When she was 14, she topped a hill in her daddy's Model A and ran into a cow. After high school, she attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS, then moved to Topeka and worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield. There she met Ron Davis where he was stationed in the Air Force. The two married in 1957 and started a family. After numerous jobs and transfers to many states, they settled in Arlington, TX. In 1972, Ron entered the ministry; Kathleen became a pastor's wife and baked wonderful food for all church events. Later, Kathleen started “Dovelite Draperies” and her work decorated many North Texas homes in the years to come. Kathleen loved her Lord and looked forward to a reunion in heaven with her husband, Ron. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Helen Nelson of Clinton, MO and her sister, LaRae Stayton of Colorado Springs, CO. Kathleen also loved her family. She is survived by daughter Ronda Davis Campbell and husband, Glen, of Bedford, son Rick Davis of Pantego, daughter Renee Davis Rogers and husband Richard of Danville, CA, and son Ray Davis of Arlington. She will be missed and remembered by her sister, Barbara Nelson Donnohue and husband Don of Appleton City, MO, her brother-in-law, Robert Stayton of Colorado Springs, her nieces and nephews, her many friends, and her grandchildren Ian Campbell and wife, Robyn, Katie, and Mary Campbell, Rebekah, Rachel, and Reagan Rogers, and Ryan and Brayden Davis, and her great-grandchildren Gracey, Grayson, Karrah and Kallen Campbell. 1. I am so very saddened to hear that we have lost Kathleen and want to send my condolences to all of her family and friends. Know that I share in your sorrow.
I was so looking forward to seeing her again at our Class Reunion this last Memorial Day. I have a big warm spot in my heart recalling so many memories of our times together through High School and beyond. I even talked her into being my date for our Jr./Sr.Ball & Banquet!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this sad time in your lives. With my Sincere Sympathy, ~Jack~
