ARLINGTON -- Joseph Milton Whetstone, 89, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Joe was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Waco to Edna and Harrell Whetstone. He graduated from Longview High School and Texas A&M University. Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Joseph Whetstone; and brother, Newton Whetstone. Survivors: Wife, Gloria Whetstone; daughter, Vickie Thornton and husband, Bobby; daughter, Jan Hoskison and husband, Harold; four grandchildren and their spouses; and three great-grandchildren.   3. So sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Whetstone. Many of us who grew up together on Hampshire have reconnected again on Facebook and are all saddened by his passing. He was a wonderful sweet soul. RIP.
