John Kevin Odom, 48, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Arlington.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1400 S. Cooper St., Arlington. Interment: 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Advocates for Special People.
Please bring aluminum soda and soup tabs in honor of Kevin.
Kevin was born on January 3, 1974 in Arlington, Texas to Lawrence Dale Odom and Mary Nan Manry Odom. He graduated from Sam Houston High School. Kevin was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
He loved trains. Kevin collected aluminum tabs off of cans to donate to charities. He competed in the Special Olympics in fast walking, volleyball, basketball and the softball throw.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Odom in 2020.
Survivors: Father, Lawrence Odom; brothers, Scott Odom and wife, Lisa; sister, Lisa Phillips and husband, David; nephew, Garrett Odom; nieces, Ashley Odom, Rebecca Phillips Wagner and husband, Kevin, and Kayce Phillips Whitley and husband, Alex.

So sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing! Enjoyed teaching him and seeing him at Spécial Olympics and we always talked about the trains behind our houses! He will be missed! Prayers for his family!
