Joe Frank Hall

joe hall
Our wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, Joe Frank Hall, passed away surrounded by family on January 14, 2021 after battling covid complications for two months. Joe was an amazing man, known for his compassion, loved by all who knew him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, traveler, ballroom dancer, private pilot, and founder of Joe Hall Roofing, Inc. Joe was born on April 18, 1943 in Dallas and then soon moved to Arlington with his family. He was a graduate of Arlington High School in 1961 and married the love of his life Sharon on August 15, 1965. Joe graduated from UTA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration while working and raising his young family. Over the years Joe held various sales and management positions (including LTV, a paint company, and a medical factory) prior to founding Joe Hall Roofing in 1988. Joe stumbled into the roofing business as a salesman for a friend which eventually led to the humble beginnings of the family business in Joe and Sharon's front room. The company has since grown to be a well-respected roofing company in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with Brett, Derek, and Jackson carrying on Joe's legacy. Joe had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. He was an avid runner and amongst his achievements was completing the Cowtown marathon at age 40 in 3hr 18 min. At age 50 he became a private pilot along with Derek and they had some amazing adventures in their 1973 Piper Cherokee. Joe's weekends were always filled with family outings from hunting, fishing, working on the family ranch, or traveling to one of their favorite destinations in Mexico. Joe's greatest delight later in life came from his 5 grandchildren. Joe never missed an opportunity to attend their events and shared many amazing trips and memories with them. His grandchildren will carry on their “Papa Joe's” amazing legacy of love and kindness. Refusing to retire, even after a heart attack and bypass surgery, Joe decided that he would “hang up his ladder” after 26 years in 2014. With a passion to help others, Joe, along with his wife Sharon, volunteered at Texas Health Resources Arlington Memorial for many years in the cardiac rehab department. He became involved in a heart support group, The Mended Hearts, and served as the president of the local chapter for 5 years. Joe adopted the organization's slogan “It's great to be alive and to help others” as his personal motto and shared this with many people. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, DJ and LolaJo Hall. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 55 years, Sharon, son Brett Hall and his wife Tina of Arlington, Tx, son Derek Hall and his wife Deneb of Fort Worth, Tx. Five grandchildren Mackenzie, Jackson, Ryan Jo, Ellie, and Ilka Hall. Sister, Betty Clifton, as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family will be hosting a drive through visitation on Monday January 25th, 2021 from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M at Joe Hall Roofing 1925 W. Pioneer Pkwy Pantego Texas. Cards, favorite memories of Joe, or verses are encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: The Mended Hearts #152 or Arlington Woman's Club.
