PANTEGO -- Jimmye Louise Avinger Pickle, 91, was blessed with eternal life Thursday, December 11, 2014. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18th, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Association of Tarrant County, and Community Hospice of Arlington. Jimmye was born in Brownwood, Texas, August 13, 1923 to Jimmie Chester and Edna Beatrice Avinger. She attended Brownwood High School and Howard Payne College, worked as an editor for the Brownwood Bulletin, and after moving to Arlington was an Executive Secretary at Sears, opening the Six Flags and Parks Mall Stores. For over 20 years, she volunteered with the United Methodist Women at First Methodist Arlington, serving lunch to the Downtown Rotary Club. She was past president of the local Sears Retirement Association, served as treasurer of the IDTA Sunday School class at Trinity United Methodist Church, was a member of the Trinity Cancer Support Team, and was a past co-president of Trinity UMW. Jimmye was honored to be a charter member of the Brownwood Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a fabulous cook, neighbor, mother, grandmother, and loved to call you her friend. Survivors: Daughter, Mary Webster and spouse, Ned; son, David Pickle; brother, Isaac Avinger and wife, Chrysanthi; grandchildren, Matthew Webster and spouse, Shannon, Andrew Webster and spouse, Cherise, Elizabeth Webster Gamble and spouse, Drew; twin grandsons, Jacob and Zachary Pickle; the father of her children, Franklin Pickle; her nieces, Sue and Mary Ann Minatra; and several cousins and extended family members.
