ARLINGTON -- Jan "Spunkey" Geier, 63, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Jan "Spunkey" Geier was born in Dallas on Nov. 18, 1949. She was the youngest of four and a Mamma's girl. Jan was a devoted, spirit-filled Christian. Her charisma, energy and distinct accent could light up any room. Jan was a dedicated wife, mother, mimi, daughter and friend. Jan met her true love, Jimmie, when she was 10 years old and he was 13. They reunited in 1969, and were married three months later. Their undeniable love has held strong for 44 years. Seven years after their marriage, the Lord blessed them with their only child, Lisa, on May 1, 1975. The three resided in Arlington, where Jan was an active Realtor for 15 years. They vacationed annually in Panama City Beach, Fla., with the rest of the Geier family. On Dec. 22, 1997, her only grandbaby, Alex, her "angel baby from heaven," was born; the light of her life, her world. In 2007, Jan welcomed her son-in-law, James Gray, into her heart, completing the family. Jan's beauty was striking. Her voice was captivating. Her humor was contagious. Her presence was commanding. Her love was inescapable. Jan was preceded in death by her father, Spunkey Keeling; aunt, Rene; sister, Cheryl; sister, Linda; and her four-legged daughter, Kadie. Survivors: Husband, Jim Geier; daughter; Lisa Geier; son-in-law, James Gray; granddaughter, Alex Strawn; mother, Billie Golden; stepfather, Lud Golden; brother, Dean Gann and wife, Jennifer; brothers-in-law, Gary Geier and wife, Peggy, Jack Geier and wife, Joni, Gene Andrews; many nieces and nephews; and beloved family and friends.
