ARLINGTON -- Hubert Elmer "Butch" Collmar, 89, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in Arlington. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Butch was born July 16, 1926, in Moundsville, W.Va., to Martin Van Buren Collmar and Minnie Clara Taylor Collmar. He received a bachelor of science in commerce at Utah State Agricultural College. He was a former resident of Brigham, Utah, and then Petersburg, Va., prior to moving to Arlington in 2003. Butch retired from the U.S. Army as a colonel having served during World War II. He worked in Civil Service as an employee development specialist. In Brigham City, Utah, Butch worked at the Intermountain Indian School as a guidance counselor and later as department head. He also was a longtime football manager and umpire for the boys. He enjoyed playing golf whenever and wherever he could. Butch attended church at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for the past 12 years. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bruce Knowlton Collmar; and his grandsons, Brandon Collmar and infant, Cole Zundel. Survivors: Wife of 12 years, JoAnne; his sons, Dennis Hubert Collmar and Jeffrey Lynn Collmar and wife, Kristina; his daughter, Diane Collmar Zundel and husband, Rick; stepdaughters, Karen Chappell and husband, Doug, and Kim Marsh and husband, Dan; stepson, Jim Wilson and wife, Sharon; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
