Henry "Ray" Somers

PANTEGO -- Henry Ray Somers, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Arlington. Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington with Rev. Bobby Bridges officiating. Visitation: 11-12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Ray was born on May 21, 1931 in Navasota, TX to Henry Bertie Somers and Mary Ruby Spear Somers. He has resided in Arlington since his college days at N.T.A.C. in 1950. Ray was a member of Meadow Lane Baptist Church. He retired as an insurance agent. Ray loved fishing and traveling to South Fork and Lake City, Colorado. He enjoyed yard work and working on his pickup truck. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Milton Somers; and two sisters, Lois Martin and Lorene Brannon. Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Collins Somers; sons, Donald Ray Somers and wife, Sydne Simpson Somers; daughter, Marsha Kay Somers Tokerud and husband, Robert; twin sister, Edna Ray Ross; grandchildren, Jeramie, Autumn, Melanie.
