Harold Dean Moore was the ninth and youngest child of Joel Thomas and Hattie Maud Moore. He was born July 24, 1931 in Haskell County, Texas and passed away on May 12, 2022 at the age of 90.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and six sisters; grandson, Tyler Moore; great-grandson, Brody Dean Moore; and great-granddaughter, Cadence Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Brock Moore of 67 years; five children, Michael Lee Moore of Mineral Wells, TX, Susan Gayle Moore of Arlington, TX, Mark Allen Moore of Longview, TX, Joel Fredrick Moore and wife, Janet of Austin, TX, and Bradley Dean Moore and wife, Melissa of Corinth, TX; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and one great-great-grandson due 7/5/2022.

He grew up in Brownwood, TX and is a graduate of Industrial Engineering, Texas A&M in 1958. He is an Air Force Veteran from the Korean War (1950-1954). He had a varied career in steel manufacturing, concrete and concrete products, business owner and consulting. He retired in 2002 and he and Betty toured all 50 states and 5 Provinces in Canada along with spending time volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and visiting with family and friends.

The visitation will be held at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25. The funeral service will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington Thursday, May 26 at 10 a.m. Immediately after the service burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Please join the family after burial for a luncheon at St. Vincent de Paul Activity Center, all friends and family are welcome to come.

The family request if you wish you can donate to the SVDP Bereavement Mission or to a charity of your choice.

  1. CandleImageMy late husband and I first met Harold and Betty when we were assigned to the Renew group that they were the facilitators of over 30 years ago. Harold and Betty have been a model of faith and love for me for all of these years. Harold was such a model of service to our Lord! He had a great sense of humor and always had a positive attitude ! It was such a blessing to have him as a friend! He will be greatly missed !
