Frank Timothy Shaughnessy, Jr. passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Arlington. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington. Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Funk-Zitiello Foundation Inc., 830-13 A1a North 187 Suite 13, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Frank's name will need to be in the memo line. Frank was born January 8, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Thelma and Frank Shaughnessy Sr. He graduated from St. Louis High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959 as an Air Traffic Controller, and continued his work as an air traffic controller for the FAA at several locations, retiring in 1987. He then worked with IBM as a systems analyst for FAA programs. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime supporter of the Ulster Project. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma (Schmalholz) and Frank Shaughnessy Sr. and nephew, David Christopher Maiolatesi. Survivors: Wife of 32 years, Linda Shaughnessy; son, Tim Shaughnessy (Amy); daughters, Kathleen Wells, Colleen Boughton (Greg), Maureen Kotlarz (Carl), Christine Shaughnessy, Shannon Brown, and Stephanie Ray (Brad); brother, John Shaughnessy; sister, Mary Shaughnessy (Don Maiolatesi); grandchildren, Herbert, Snyder, Claire, Zachary, Erika, Andrea, Amber, Jade, Ruby, Nathan and Jack; plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
