From a young age, Sonny exemplified a strong work ethic, which he carried throughout his life. After graduating from Wheeler High School, Sonny married the love of his life, Jeraldine Cox, on March 24, 1957. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love and warmth. As a proud Papa Sonny, he cherished his 13 incredible grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, that brought immeasurable joy and love into his life.
Sonny’s love for family extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His warm and welcoming personality made everyone feel like family whenever they were around him. Sonny was a man of faith who served diligently in various roles at Woods Chapel Baptist Church, where his unwavering devotion touched the lives of many.

His legacy of kindness, love, and integrity will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His passing leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends that cannot be filled.
Sonny is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeraldine, and his parents, Morgan and Lela Pride. He is survived by his children – Rhonda Dubois (Robert), Ronnie Pride (Lori), Rickey Pride (Shelly), and Randy Pride (Kari). Peace in Him, Jim Morrow
Having lived down the street from the Pride’s since the summer after first grade, Mr. Pride (Sonny) was a strong fixture in our neighborhood. Always waving and smiling. Stern if needed but even at those times a very loving, kind man. All my love and prayers for comfort and the peace our Lord provides during this very difficult time to my friends (Randy and Kari) and Ronnie, Rhonda, and Rickey, whom I dearly love as well!
