Dolores M. Tornero, 76 years old, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022. She was born in El Paso, TX on January 29, 1946 and was a resident of Arlington, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lorenzo & Josefina G. Hernandez and sisters Maria Luisa Escajeda and Margarita Escajeda and her brothers Federico Gomez, Lorenzo Hernandez Jr. and Ernesto Hernandez.

Dolores was a graduate of Bowie High School in El Paso and her friends called her “Kitty” for her green eyes. She was raised a devout Catholic as a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Paso. On February 21, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart Victor Vicente Tornero Sr. At Victor’s retirement after 42 years of service in the US Navy, she was awarded the Yellow Rose of Texas award and Military Spouse Medal for her unwavering dedication to his military service and contributions to our country. She will always be remembered and never forgotten. She also dedicated her life to raising and loving her children, grandchildren and family.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband Victor Vicente Tornero Sr, daughters Yvonne Martinez (Luis) and Christina Tornero Burcie, son Victor Vicente Tornero Jr. (Nora) all of Arlington, sisters Celia Hernandez, Lorenza Valenzuela (Carlos), Josefina Hernandez, Teresa Cereceres and Connie Hernandez all of El Paso. Also survived by her pride and joy grandchildren Michael Ignacio Burcie, Carolina Alicia and Liliana Olivia Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and granddogs Flamer, Lea and Osito and grandparakeets Wrey and Phoenix.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 21 from 5 to 8 pm with a Rosary Service at 6:15 pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at 10 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington followed by Rite of Committal and burial at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX at 1 pm.
