David Lovato, 72, of Arlington, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Dallas. David was born August 1, 1950 to Alvino Campbell Lovato and Pauline Wilson Lovato in Lubbock, Texas. He was the fourth of nine children.
After David graduated high school, he was called to serve his country and did so with honor. Upon his return he worked in a variety of jobs. He was was self-taught mechanic using his talents repairing cars and trucks. David once converted and old 1960’s station wagon from an automatic to a stick shift. He also enjoyed painting cars both in his free time and professionally. David was employed at MAACO in the Lubbock area.
In his free time, David enjoyed playing pool. He was known to be quite the hustler with his skills. David also enjoyed playing golf and even played baseball in his younger years.
He was a straight-shooter that loved life and his especially his family. His presence will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
There will be a Rosary service for David Lovato from 6:00-8:00 pm, April 28, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Park.

David is survived by daughter Ashley Lovato, son Anthony Lovato, and sister-law Lydia Lovato, sisters Yolanda Garcia, Cecelia Lovato, brothers Alvino, Larry and Sammy Lovato, his four grandchildren, Sadie Guevara, Jade Lovato, Madison Lovato and Aidan Lovato.
David is preceded in death by his parents Alvino Lovato and Pauline Wilson Lovato, daugther Tina Lovato, brothers Daniel and Hector Lovato, and sister Veronica Burns.
Rosary: Friday, April 28, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
Graveside: Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1:00 pm, Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Lubbock, Texas.
