David Langhorne Ficklen, of Haltom City, TX, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Ft. Worth, TX. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1944, in Ft. Worth, TX to William West Ficklen and Dorothy Marie Dodd. David and Lillie got married on September 24, 1971. He also worked for the railroad for 37 years. David served in the Army reserve during the Vietnam Era. He attended Alvarado Highschool and graduated in 1963, and then attended TCJC. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, RC airplanes and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. David is survived by his wife, Lillie Ficklen; daughter, Erica Chrismer and husband Ed Chrismer; daughter, Teresa Wilson and husband Jimmy Wilson; grandchildren; Chaslyn Perez and husband Jose Perez, Marcus Wilson, Devin Wilson; great-grandson, Ripley Perez.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The visitation will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Wade Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on February 16, 2022, at Wade Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
