Born in: Cincinatti, Ohio
Resided in: Arlington, Texas

It is with great sorrow that we accept the passing of David “Moose” Shepard February 7th 2023, at the age of 74. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of many family members and friends.
David was born September 5TH 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the first-born child of Don and Janet Shepard. His family moved several times during his youth before settling in Florida, where David spent his high school years. He was a star player on his high school basketball team.
In 1966, David and his family moved to Irving Texas. He enrolled in the University of Texas at Arlington. He became a charter member of the Arlington chapter of Delta Upsilon fraternity. He maintained a close relationship with many of his fraternity brothers until the time of his death.
David always loved sports, from his days of playing intramural basketball and football, to the time he spent cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. But the sport he loved more than any other was fishing. He was never more content then on a boat somewhere in the Gulf with a rod in his hand.
After college, he moved for a while back to Florida and worked with his parents in the real estate business. It was not uncommon for several of his college buddies to take off for Florida and crash at his place for days or sometimes weeks.
He moved back and forth between Florida and Texas several times in the next twenty years. He was always in the Real Estate, Banking or Mortgage business. His expertise in those fields made him huge asset to the companies that employed him.
While living in Orlando, he met Laura, the love of his life in 1993. They were married in 1996. She came with him back to Texas shortly after that. They were welcomed back by many friends.
He spent the last 20 years in the real estate appraisal business. Even as his health deteriorated in the last several years, he still worked until a few months before his death.
David also authored several novels and short stories including the critically acclaimed “Jack Henry Saga”.
David was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his wife Laura, children are Sarah, Matthew and Jesse, Grandchildren Hayden, Merrick, Orion, Calix, Sophia and Isabella. Sister Caroline Fallon and her husband, Jim Fallon and sister Nancy Shepard.
