Born in: Fort Worth, TX
Resided in: Arlington, TX

Clyde Gunn was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 21, 1950 to Helen Rollison. In his youth, he enjoyed growing up with his brothers and sisters, and often recounted tales of their adventures together. After High School, Clyde joined the U.S. Navy where he served 4 years as a Radarman and Radio Operator. He was proud of his service to our country and enjoyed sharing stories from his travels. After honorably leaving the navy, Clyde went to work for General Motors, where he worked for 33 years. Early in his career, Clyde met Laurie Dean on a blind date. They were married less than 3 months later. Laurie was the love of Clyde’s life. Early in their marriage, they gave birth to a son, Daniel. Clyde always made his family a priority in his life, and was an exceptional husband, father, pappy, brother, and son. After retiring from General Motors, Clyde worked as event staff at the Ballpark in Arlington for the Texas Rangers. He was a big fan of the Texas Rangers and enjoyed seeing them win the World Series in 2023. Prior to fully retiring, he also worked as a park host for Grapevine Parks Services at Grapevine Lake. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was being saved in his youth, and we are assured through faith that he is with our Lord and Savior in passing. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and poker, and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor, and his kindness. He never missed an opportunity to help a friend, deliver a clever one-liner, share a history lesson, talk sports, or beat you at a game of Texas Hold ’em.

Clyde is preceded in death by mother, Helen Rollison; sister, Pat Ptomey; brother, Jack Gunn; and In-laws, Mary Dean and Lynton Dean Jr.

Clyde’s legacy is continued in life by his beloved wife, Laurie Gunn; children, Daniel Gunn and his wife Melinda Gunn; Grandchildren, Megan Gunn and Dylan Gunn; Siblings, Helen Davis, Nona Gunsolus and her husband Don Gunsolus, Earl McCommas and his wife Angela McCommas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
