ARLINGTON -- Clara Ruth Whittington, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Ruth was born on July 17, 1930, in Milo, Okla., to James Garland Smith and Hattie Bell Robinson Smith. She was retired after many years in fashion sales, a profession that she really loved. Ruth never met a stranger and everyone that she met was a new friend. She loved her family dearly.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Browning Whittington.
Survivors: Son, J. Lee Whittington and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Jennifer and Lamar Kirk, Justin and Shannon Whittington, Jordan and James Little, and Janelle Whittington; precious great-grandchildren, Landrie, Karsyn, Easton, Ryan, Makena and Leighton.

J.Lee,I want to extend my sincere condolences to you and your family during this time of mourning. You and your family are a living testimony of Aunt Ruth’s legacy of being a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Our lost is heaven’s gain and although she left behind a loving family she was united with family and friends that passed before her.
She won the Victory that God promised us through his Son Jesus Christ, so as they celebrate Aunt Ruth’s Victory in Heaven, let us also celebrate this Wonderful Lady here on Earth.
