ARLINGTON -- Charles Allen "Al" Schultz, 84, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, in Arlington. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 Pioneer Parkway in Arlington with Pastor Russell Hildebrand. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Perry Geevon Smith Lutheran School in Liberia, Africa. Donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 210 W. Park Row, Arlington, Texas 76010, designated to Perry's school. Charles Allen, or Al as he was fondly known, was born in St. Charles, Missouri, on July 31, 1931, to Charles Leo Christian Schultz and Bertha Sophie Dieckbernd. He met and married a Texas girl, Joyce Evelyn Reimers, while in the Air Force and moved to the Lone Star State. He resided in Arlington for over 50 years, where he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He served in the Air Force before graduating from the University of Texas in 1954 and went on to become an electronics engineer in the local defense industry. Al was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Bradley Charles Schultz, on Nov. 19, 2003. Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Joyce Evelyn Reimers Schultz; daughters, Cynthia Alison Schultz Gray and husband, Henry, Amy Christine Schultz Scully and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Amber, Glen, Amanda, Melinda and Anna; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kara, Kaitlyn, Michelle and Harrison.
